Apparantly the RevoII is going to be the recommended solution when rebreathers are considered critical to mission success. Various other units have been tested and rejected. The unit is going to be presented as an entire solution with a complete set of team gases and procedures, as well as integration with the rest of an OC team. all of this is going to take a few months to sort out, but a fully supported and recommended solution is hoped to be in place by June next year.

big news eh, but it had to happen.

Well that should make life interesting-not sure about the tap switch on the handsets but looks like it has potential. Explains the invitation of Mr Short and Mr Gurr to discuss rebreathers.

Details are still sketchy at the moment but it seems the general gist of GUE's slightly more relaxed attitude to CCR seems to be 'CCR to travel to the end of line, SCR to explore' - this doesn't reflect a total change in ideology. More an acceptance that, under certain circumstances, CCR does have its place...

I'm sure someone who was actually there will be along soon to fill in the blanks/clarify. JohnK? Clare? Any of you guys want to do the honours as I know you were there...
