Sounds like I got off lightly. I just had an adjustable spanner mysteriously disappear somewhere on the way out.

Next time I'm going with Air Canada via Toronto. I've done it before. There's a flight out on Friday night, gets in at midnight, then stay at a hotel near the airport, get a reasonable night's sleep and the flight to Cancun leaves at about 10am. And Canadian immigration takes about 10 minutes.

They excercise no care at all - its just chuck it all out then throw it all back. Everything was carefully wrapped and packed. There was a nice note inside the bags saying they had been searched and they accepted no responsibility for any damage

then then they wonder why the world is pissed off with them..

maybe that's why Al-Qaeda exists.. Bin Laden had a bad airport experience.. No late night snack bars open and his luggage got lost after being torn apart by a 5 dollar an hour security 'expert'.

To be honest, if you can pretend to be stupid enough the First Choice flight was direct and pretty well priced at about £600 all up. Even cheaper if you want to go Tuesday to Tuesday.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.
