Miflex Hoses + DIR

Hi all, just wanting to know your thoughts on the new Miflex "Extreme" hoses for the longhose.

I have been happily using these hoses on my single for a while and am very happy with them in terms of weight (reduction) and flexibility. However, this is my first venture into "Longhose" and I would really appreciate any thoughts you guys had on these hoses as being suitable.

The only slight possibility is whether they would slip out from under the torch. They are indeed light and flexible, but they seem a bit "slippier" than the traditional rubber hose.

I've just put one on my set, so I'll let you know how I get on

It's a different situation but I've got braided hoses on my rebreather and they do cause a bit of abrasion on other parts. Mine are braided stainless though, whether or not the miflex sheath will act in the same way is another question.

Can't think of a reason why not. Shame they don't do HP as well - you end up with a mix of both which looks a bit naff. And as you know DIR is all about looking slick eh?

Having played with the KISS hoses and hurt myself before, and played with the Miflex today, they are very very different hoses. Having a Miflex whipped across the back of the legs would be kinky, the KISS hoses would be a biblical form of punishment.

I'd be very surprised if they could cause any abrasion at all to even another normal rubber hose or a suit. And that's if you meant it.

Digs.

Piotr saw the sea in a book once
Please feel free to ask any questions you have of us either on here or email me at enquiries@mifleshoses.co.uk

We see no difficulties with using these in the longhose arrangement and have standard sizes available to suit.

We are working on the HP hoses, but do not have them available as yet

Hope this helps

Peter

Hi Peter, and congrats on some nice hoses - very pleased with them so far

The only thing I've found so far is that whereas my usual rubber hose sort of "sticks" when you tuck it under the torch cannister the miflex one you can feel moves quite easily forward and back. It actually makes it quite easy to move the hose a bit to get the length comfortable and I didn't find any problems with the first couple of dives I've done with them so far

Ok, Thanks for the comments so far and on that basis I have just ordered the 210cm hose.

I should say that I already have these hoses on my regs and find them absolutely excellent, very "light" on the mouth and very flexible - they do just what it says on the tin.

The only "Gripe" I have (if any) is purely cosmetic in that they dont come with stress relievers. I know that the hoses are very durable, but it would just "Finsh" the look rather than have the bare crimped ends.

Oh, and I should also say that I have found the customer support excellent as well. When an order failed to arrive Friday as expected I had emails from Peter (Piotr) over the weekend and the hoses arrived that Monday morning - excellent and Thanks Peter.

Each to their own I guess - if they came with stress relievers I'd remove them
