| For holding a snap to my LP hose I use a large O ring and a cable tie, wrap the O ring around the hose, then thread the cable tie through it to the snap, its very secure but if alot of pressure is applied (gets snagged and needs to be released quickly) it will stretch then snap, Ill post a picture up.

| For regulators I tend to use a different (non DIR) method, just take the second stage off the hose, and then loop an O-ring over the hose, through the boltsnap, then back over the hose. You need a fair size O-ring for this, around an inch diameter hole, to use this method. But it makes the regulator in a real real emergency available to a panicked diver. It works fine for the rest of the time anyhow. I use the cave line knot method for the back end of torches and reels, as there isn't really a situation where they would be life and death if they couldn't be removed. Not really, anyhow. I do fear people going out and using these methods to attach regulators to themselves permanently without undergoing the training to make sure that it is safe. This is one danger of information on the net. We have no idea what sort of diving environment these might be used in. Digs. |

| Since this is the DIR forum though, I suspect the OP was interested in the DIR answer....which has been adequately explained, I think.....and does not involve O-rings HTH Mal |
