My regs don't seem to want to move much

If you're not sure then loosen your manifold. Fill your tins with gas. Roll you set off of a wall or out of the back of your car. See if it's moved.

Or come scooter diving with me around a big ass wreck

I have rolled a fully loaded set of 12's off of the back of a 4X4 and the manifold moved but did not break. If it was fixed in place I suspect that the manifold would not have survived.
I don't have mine bollocked-up so tight it won't move if it's whacked heavily, just a little nip with a spanner. I don't like the idea of it being loose enough that the valve could end up pointing away from me where I can't reach it. That's worse than having no isolator valve at all.

Nah, figured it out, the regs have 200 odd bar pushing on one side, locking the threads up, of course the manifold has 200 odd bar on both sides, so there's no net effect.

Q. Why did the razorbill raise her bill?

A. So the sea urchin could see her chin!

Ah OK - same as mine then! I wondered what you were on about when you said you wanted to be where you left it!

nor my legs..

TBH - under pressure - even if they are 'loose' they are not really that loose and need a reasonable amount of effort to shift them.. and I'm talking about barrel manifolds rather than MDE.

The MDE manifolds are much harder to turn than the barrel 'O' ring types due to the facing 'O' ring.

With an Agir/Halcyon/Scubapro type manifold, if the twinsets been set-up correctly with nice parallel bands, it will turn very easily about ¼ to ½ a turn either way.

In fact, it turns easier than the valves*

* That's just a joke for Mal, BTW.
