A lot of RB divers do dive with standard gases, procedures etc. I know, I know, as long as there are 3 cells powering it blah-di-blah-di-blah... but it would be interesting to see the results. Couldn't be any worse than DIR sidemount

OK, it's not going to be DIR but there are a lot of RB divers that would benefit from the approach. On the other hand it might turn into some sort of bastard lovechild of a drunken visit to Clapham Common by Howard and Chasey.

I suppose there is always Cedric's DIR-Rebreather... Anyone have any spare clothing in the Scouseburgh area? I've just shat myself from laughing and I've got 2hrs before I go home...

Cheers,

Stuart
a couple of us started to look at this earlier in the year, as we were liking the look of the revo. the problem is that to do it properly you have to get all the rebreather divers to agree to use exactly the same unit, with exactly the same mods, and exactly the same gases / bail out procedures, signals, emergency procedures etc.

you could quite easily do a DIR setup with a breather within an individual team, who don't already have rebreathers, but it aint gonna happen for existing rb divers as they "somewhat unlikely" to be open to the idea of junking their entire rig for a standardised one. Team foxturd might wlel be diving breathers in the future, but we would be diving a "standard" and not "DIR" becuase we would only have a standard within a team, not with any other breather divers.

Sounds reasonable to me

Have Chasey and The Dude been cruising Clapham Common again? *tsk tsk*

I've definitely got the Dude down as "The Daddy" and Chasey as his bitch

LOL Not to worry, I eat gods for breakfast . You put the studs in your forehead, I'll have them on my dog collar and while I'm re-learning the alphabet plastered all over your body we can do a buddy check

I must admit you are one of the tidiest divers I've seen but that was going into Wraysbury, stageless, and you'd probably left all your reels and bags in the car

How the heck did this turn in to a shutdown procedures thread.

Well done Ben you have created yet another excuse for some to think there is a them and us.

Now if we could all just agree that Ben has made a complete tit of himself and pissed off 98% of the board (use of smiley as Ben seems to think that's all is needed)

If you set up a poll with only one option, someone would manage to disagree!
