Well just got off the phone to Mr Howard Payne, thanks Howard its nice to speak to someone whos keen to get me diving (not that it is anyone elses responsibility, but still nice to have some encouragement.)

But I also got a telling off by Howard, as I have now just recently found the hilarity you can have just winding people up on forums, I mean seriously there is some passion out there!!!

I'm hardly a typical DIR more a DIR curious diver, the only halcyon kit I own is a slap strap and a note book someone gave me, oh and valves and manifold because got a bargain!!! Clare please respond to clarify. But I do like the ideas and really just enjoy the fact there is so much hostility......

I know that there is probably some good reason for not doing this but why???? Please don't take this too seriously as it is only really just a bit of fun.

We all wind each other up about all sorts of things and long may it continue. Most of it's pretty light-hearted and anything that strays too far usually get stomped on pretty quick.

Ben's post last night only wound me up due to the awful spelling & grammar I'm sure he's nowhere near as much of a wanker as you all seem to think

Mind you, if Howard's taking him under his wing.......

I think what young Lostdiver has discovered is that DIR divers are like wee children.

If you don't do what they want you to do (which is VERY logical in their point of view) they spit out their dummies and start stamping their feet. This is very funny when it happens because all reactions after the initial "agro" are very predictable.

The worst is when you tell a 3 or 4 year old child that there is another child better than him/her. That can become a murderous situation

The Hostility.... well all I can say about that is that it is from the roots of ignorance that it sprouts....

Ben is the love child of George Irvine and Parker Turner. Born in a cave, raised on kool aid, he was only let out recently where we caught him quickly and inserted the new programming chip which comes with the diplomacy module during a fundamentals course last month. We thought we had caught him in time but it appears that there's been a bit of a malfunction in the software as he is openly promoting DIR rather than softly doing it in every available thread.

Howard has been sent out to reprogram him. If that doesn't work, fear not, we'll keep trying to turn him into a more acceptable individual. Like a politican, a second hand car dealer or a currency trader.....

Seriously, he's 19 and more enthusiastic than anyone I've ever met about his diving. Quite a sound diver too.
