DIR-UK Bank Holiday Weekend 3-5 May 2008

I went to Weymouth this weekend for my first weekend of diving with the DIR-UK guys, diving off Graham Knott's new boat and meeting for the first time a number of people I'd only had a passing acquaintance with....and what a top fella that Mr Knott is

We dived a few nice wrecks and since I have not dived that much in the area, they were new to me (with the exception of the Salsette). It was very dark at depth and vis was less than ideal but good fun was had diving with Howard for the first two days, even in spite of the rather "fruity" sea conditions on Saturday!.

Today we did something a little special that will be written up in detail I am sure with photos etc, but from a personal perspective I got the chance to dive with Al and Clare for the first time together since our Trimix course a couple of years ago. We agreed to dive together at some point and although I had managed to dive with Clare in between I'd never been in the water with Al other than at a quarry.

So it was really great to put that right and dive with them on their RB80's and understand a bit about them. It was also my first outing with my homebrew Trimix and the fact that I am here to write the report proves I didn't do such a bad job.

It wa a lucky weekend where all the 50:50's went in our favour .... I wish I'd bought a lottery ticket now
