There will be a 1 megawatt LED Salvo! It will be suspended from the bottom of the boat and the whole ocean will be lit up.
Communication will be done by telepathy with a more advanced probe.![]()

"You have your way, I have my way, As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist." - Friedrich Nietzsche.
well, without the internet, i wonder how many people would have heard of DIR in the first place?
It'll be like the window display of a charity shop. Completely out of fashion and outdated .....
Everything moves in cycles, and with prices of He rising, and stocks running out (supposedly), it'll be good old 21% for all dives... We all know the RB's seem to be "the future" yet, "they" are waiting for the perfect answer to one. RB's have been around for decades and as they all effectively follow similar technology and means of operation, they are unlikely to change significantly in the future to fit in with the current thinking within the organisation.
I just don't get DIR/GUE at all. I just see it as a newbie divers way of getting into "tech diving" who are used to the comfort of buddy sport diving. That said, i think there is a load of ballcocks spouted off about diving full stop, and far too much politics when there shouldn't really be any. One thing i do have in common with DIR/GUE are Rules, but i only have one, and that is to complete the same amount of ascents as descents. That rule seems to be working quite well for me at the moment![]()
One way to get rid of DIR completely, is to get all the instructors to dive with me. Once they see my kit config and crap trim, they'll all have heart attacks and not be allowed to dive again....Hmm, i have a cunning plan . . Any room on fundies for me![]()

In 2023: We will have cloned 7 of 9 and she will be part of the standard equipment configuration.
No more HID lights. Broad beam, wide spectrum lasers are the way forward, using the choice of IR or UV Head Up masks.
DS4's will turn air into 18/45, the universal gas.
Only old style GUE instructors will still have their brown wings, gained from using gear that still works 20 years on, all be it with faded nylon.
All divers except the enlightened will twitch whenever their suunto flashes 3, so some things will never change... but long live Diving Inland Right

Blimey! That takes me back. I remember reading loads of 'Hells Angels' books (Chopper, Mama ... ) as a young teenager where the earning of wings was essential. Came in useful, as I encountered quite a few from UK chapters as an older teenager. I swiftly add that I was always a model citizen and actually helped to 'clean up' a couple![]()
