Suit Inflation Bottle Straps + Mush Bolts....

Hopefully, there will be a fair few halcyon Backplate users in here so I hope you can help...

Suit inflation Bottle straps. I have tried to fit these to my H backplate which also has the MC pack. Trouble is, the mushroom bolts are not long enough to go through BOTH the MC pack and the straps eyelets.

There is one "spare" hole inthe B/P that I have fitted one strap in, but the other bolt only just seems catch one or two threads of the mushroom nut.

Is it me (probably) or do I need longer bolts? If so, why are they not supplied with the straps? After all, chances of someone using a Halcyon Backplate, Inflation bottle straps and a MC pack are, I would think, fairly high!

    Cheers,

    Hmmmm......

Cant remember completely as I got the straps when I was trying to figure a suitable mounting solution for a Metalsub torch battery tank. have to have a look in the spares box but dont recall them...

Anyone got any ideas where I can get 2 x "Long" backplate screws from?

    many thanks.

I attach the inflation strap onto the plate only and not through the MCpack. I only use 5 mushroom bolts on the corners MC Pack, the 6th on the suit strap. Gets around the problem.

I don't like deploying from the backplate pouch but it is nice to have the extra space. We carry one lift bag when scooter diving in the sea on the basis that if one floods we are ascending.

Interested in DIR dive training/courses? - always happy to chat/answer questions via PM or email
