<font color='#0000FF'>Hi

No worries Pierre, I was just noting that your question regarding deco gas bottle sizes ended up being a heated debate over a 70 mtr dive plan, but if you're OK on how your thread went then thats fine with me. But then we are in the DIR section !!

Mark,

please don't take my comments as insults, they really aren't. I am just noting that there are differences in our points of view that I cannot see being resolved easily (generalising of course that you are indeed as stubborn as me ).

Sorry, just got to chip in here.

Despite appearences DIR does not own the philosophy of buddy diving. As has been pointed out on numerous threads a lot of the ideas within DIR are common sense. Mark has stated that when he and I dive as a buddy pair we are exactly that, same gasses etc. It is true to say however that we are both realists and have been down there enough times to realise that you can never truly trust someone else with your life. It is to that end that dives are planned together with our own bail-out options, this is not to say that we would not intend to support each other, rather an acceptance of real life. We both have children we would like to see grow up. All risks are taken with that in the back of our minds.

WetLettuce, to say that when I read your thread suggesting otherwise I fet irritated is an understatment. If the only way to prove the opposite to you is for us all to dive together then so be it.

Please take this post as an invitation for us to get together and enjoy a dive, I accept that you would probably not wish to dive with either of us as a buddy so the invitation is extended to you and a.n. other buddy. It is my treat. You choose a dive and provided both Mark and myself can be available we will be there.

Andrew

I only interpret what is posted by Mark and that sometimes irritates me in its harshness when discussing independence as I am sure that it isn't as black and white as he describes but he keeps on saying it and so I am forced to highlight it. I do actually try and consider YOUR view when posting but when I am arguing DIR with Mark there are many arguments used which seem such an opposite to the DIR approach, the need for a pony of air for bailout being one example.

Whilst I am not making excuses for my posts I apologise if they cause you irritation because that is not their purpose. Its funny but I think the debates do give a balance that you don't really see on any other forums which means there is an abundance of info for others, even if it does make Mark and I look like adolescent schoolkids every now and again (no it doesn't, yes it does ).

I am also sure that most people are nothing like their internet persona and that one day we will indeed go on a dive together and I look forward to it. You will be pleasantly surprised I assure you as I am sure will I.

Just let me get my Tech1 done first and I'll be there.

Andy
