<font color='#8D38C9'>Without getting to scientific.... (or my brain will shut down) I know the research on early mix diving was done by hamilton and co, what later research was done and have you any links, etc to it. Ive read the Wkpp and the gue sites but they seem to concentrate on 02 rather than he.

I agree 100% on the view of all dives being deco and a sensible spread of stops (have always done that) but I must be honest that i know very, very little about the benefits of helium as a deco gas. Am prepared to learn
Is this stuff Wkpp experimental stuff or is it full blown tested if there is such a thing). Do commercial divers (if applicable) use he when in deco??

Personally I find it slightly frustrating that various agencies can have such opposing views on decompression. I know its an art not a science but you would think there would be more cross party agreement on basics!!. It would be interesting to do both a tdi or iantd trimix course and a gue one just to truely understand the difference, but I believe anybody would end up being fairly confused. Guess its down to who you trust. Bit scary when you think of the consequences!!

Interesting though.

Cheers Andy,

ben

<font color='#0000FF'>Hi

I haven't really found much other than what is on the internet on various forums and stuff.

The best thing I've read is Bennet and Elliot which is the 'bible' all the hyberbaric doctors use. It goes into the differences between helium and nitrogen in quite some detail as well as physiology, saturation diving and some really good info on oxygen, all the stuff you mention actually.

5th edition is the one to get. But it is £95 so you might have to go to the library unless you are really geeky I thought it was worth it though but then I am geeky I guess.

Andy

Bennet and Elliot??

I am booked in on the IANTD Triox course for the New Year - I am interested in the deco theory. &nbsp; Can you give more details of this book please??

In answer to earlier posts in the thread - I think all the agencies are coming round to the He good N2 bad point of view, including IANTD.

Chris
