I bought a DIR length HP hose last week as my original was slightly too long for comfort. I measured what I thought I needed and the DIR one seemed to be slightly shorter than I would have thought but I surmised maybe they had more experience and this was correct.
I forgot that they don't, the hose is so short I can't see the bloody thing, what a waste of money!

The moral of this story is take an idea, listen to advice, and then do what you think is best for you. Saying that, we've all done it wrong before and probably will again.

The moral of the story is that you should not write something off if you have not tried to use it as intended (remember the DIVE Eclipse wing article ). The hose length is perfect but you are not supposed to be able to read it while the SPG is stowed on the left hip d-ring. You should unclip it then bring it out in front of you to read it.

The hose length is fine even when using stages.

HTH.

It was the only shorter spg hose I could find but if that is the DIR way of using an SPG then it is the daftest thing I have ever heard.
Unclip to read? personally I like to just glance at my gauge regularly, not have to faff about grabbing it, unclipping, lifting into a position I can see it, placing back to where I got it and reclipping.
It will be going back down the corr hose where it has been for the last few years then, at least it is easy to read and out the way there.
