| Imported post Just received an Halcyon 3´3" DSMB in the post. When orderd I asked for the "Oral" inflate, thinking that you would use your primary reg on your long hose to inflate, whilst breathing from your necklaced reg. Not this one...you inflat by placing the valve in your mouth, like blowing up a balloon. I can see this being acceptable at the surface, but at depth??? I´ve e-mailed the shop, thinking that they had sent the one which you inflate using the hose from a dry suit. I´ve been told that this is the correct DSMB for wetsuit divers...any comments would be much appreciated. Pete |

| Imported post <font color='#0000FF'>I'm puzzeld how do you inflate useing a dry suit hoze they dont free flow when disconected from your suit and if you have to conect the hoze to the DSMB sounds like a dangerous method to release if any thing gose wrong ? or am i missing something. wack

| Imported post Wack, I thought about this being a potential hazzard but apparently the hose cannot lock onto the nipple, it simply opens the valve in the hose and lets the air into the bag, There was a vid of this a little while back - I'll see if I can find the link. Cheers, Noel

| Imported post The nozzle on the DSMB pushs the valve in on the drysuit hose so air is released. Also they do not lock onto the DSMB valve like they do on the inflator on the drysuit. So if it suddenly buggers off at speed it will pull off the hose. Personally I prefer the open ended, inflate with the exhaust from my primary method. Daz

| Imported post <font color='#000080'>Hi There is an oral inflate version which doesn't inflate with a LP hose and it is only available in the 3ft length. It is easy enough to do with a little practice, you only need two or three breaths. You might be able to return it if you don't like the idea. Andy |

| Imported post Thanks for all the comments guys... Having note done the fundamentals as yet, I am right in believing there are three ways of deploying a DSMB for DIR followers. 1. Using the LP hose from a dry suit 2. Long hose reg for wetsuit divers - Breath from necklaced reg 3. Oral inflate [ The one I have, by mistake ] |
