| Imported post Hi Guys, I am not a 100% DIRer (so I suppose that means I am not at all). I have my own ideas that have seved me well over a lot of years. Although I do keep an open mind & am more than happy to try out new ideas. As I go deeper I need to be stronger to lift my kit (bigger cyls. & heavier) & be stable with it on land. I have kept in training over the years & realize big muscles use more gas. As I get older my joints do not have the mobility that they had. Does anyone have a good regime that works? |

| Imported post <font color='#000080'>I alternate between cardio and weight days. On cardio day: 1 mile run - 9.20 (Would run more but hate it!) X-Trainer - 10mins Static Bike - 20mins or @ 12k Rowing - 10mins This is for general fitness so I don't get out of breath lugging kit round etc.. Weights day: Chest Presses Back Rows Shoulder Presses Legs (Calves Raises, Leg Press and Leg Extn) Arm Curls This gives more upper body strength and leg strength to cope with the extra kit etc.. Works for me. Hope that helps, Ian

| Imported post <font color='#0000FF'>Go along to an aerobic lesson at your local gym. There are loads of whales that you can have a giggle at, loads of fit fraulines to oggle at and it also gets your heart, lungs into good shape for diving. Seriously though, cardio vascular is the way to go.....>

| Imported post The best exercise routine is one that you can stick to and fits in with your normal activities. I try to get into a habit of exercising regularly but vary what I do to avoid getting bored. I usually try to vary between; - running - cycling - boxing - circuits class - weights - swimming - drinking (well lets be realistic, I am a diver after all!) I have a gym literally 100 yds away which means there is no excuse for not going. So don't try and stick to something that is unreasonable, find something that works for you. Of course if sitting on the sofa eating pizza works for you you may have some changes to make!
