I would agree.. also seems daft to spent money for the sake of it. I would use the 40 as the backup and the 200 as the main reg. And you can sell me the ATX First stage Best Anke

I went exactly the same route going from a single to twins and bought a TX50 as my primary. I kept the ATX200 as a backup. I'd heard that the TX had a wider exhaust "T" than the ATX and wanted to see what difference it made... anyway it's a great reg and seems the same in performance terms to the ATX200. One thing to note is if you decide to keep the ATX200 as a primary, swap the "super comfobite" stylee mouthpiece for a regular one - assists with rescuing a toxing diver. Oh and I am keeping the ATX first stage for my single rig and maybe a stage reg... HTH, Fraser. |

Can't give you a massive amount more as it was only touched on in DIR-F, AIUI it is covered further in Tech 1 but I think the theory is that a toxing diver whilst convulsing may well have his teeth clamped shut, thus preventing you getting a reg into the mouth. Therefore the reg mouthpiece needs to be 'spread' across the casualty's mouth, rather than put in it. The Apeks comfothing can't do that so I guess is not strictly speaking "DIR". It's ok on the backup reg though. I think! Maybe one of the more advanced guys can tell you a bit more, sorry. HTH, Fraser. |

| Imported post Cor, certainly didn't "touch" on it when I did the non-cert fundies course many moons ago! I'm gonna have to save up and do it again... up until now I thought DIR was saving me money! Quote:

I got the impression from Mike Kane that all the fundies courses are slightly different as they are tailored around who attends, I was lucky and there were only four of us on the course and we always had at least two instructors. BTW, did you receive your "X-shorts" yet? Are they any cop? Cheers, Fraser. |
