Hi

Like all GUE instructors Andy is sometimes hard to get hold of depending on where in the world he is. I understand that he is in France for a couple of weeks cave diving and he regularly travels to Holland to do couses there. Email him again in case it didn't escape his spam filter.

As far as the suit goes, I am sure it will be fine although trying to do horizontal valve drills might look a bit funny

Andy

Mind you I look funny doing any sort of manual valve drill so I doubt if the suit will make much diferance.

Hi

Its because of the material. The 5mm neoprene is thick and elasticky. Traditionally (I don't know if this applies to your suit) when doing a valve drill your arm is trying to reach for the valve and the stretchiness of the neoprene is effectively working against you trying to pull your arm back. One person on my fundamentals had this problem, and AndyG explained this to us. Recently Mark Emery has commented how easy a valve drill is in a membrane TLS rather than his Othree Ri suit.

Well-in Chasey old son!

I'd pay money to be a fly on the wall on this gig and listen to some of the exchanges between AndyP, Chasey and the AndyK!

Smile Looking forward to hearing your thoughts...

Mark,

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the course. Though not long a member of YD I've enjoyed the back and forth between you and the DIR boys. I'm sure many will look forward to your write up.

All the best,
Grigor

Hi,

yep I tried my 'new to me' (2nd hand, rather old and leaky) TLS350 in the pool with thinsulate undersuit and I could do valve drills like I have never been able to before. It is like wearing a t-shirt rather than a drysuit. I am very impressed with the suit (apart from the leak/s).

I can do valve drills in my RI suit but the left post is normally a bit of a struggle due to the suit fabric working against me (or something like that). It is much much harder in the RI anyway.

Mark, you should try calling AK on his mobile to book your course. Your suit will be fine as long as you can do valve drills while wearing it and with your equipment correctly configured.

Regards,

Mark.

Hi guys

I've lurked on this board for sometime, but following on from all the recent DIR-F talk, I've decided to sign up to the course aswell. Hopefully see some of you in the not-so-distant future.
