Ali Baba, the red sea instructor who is deaf, lip reads in 5 languages and can teach in BSL was in the UK a month ago, I'm not sure where he is based, but we were discussing setting up a network of deaf instructors who could teach in BSL. You can contact him at: info@alibabadivemagic.net or his website is http://www.alibabadivemagic.net
You could speak to Scuttler although he's not nearly as deaf as he likes to make out. He never misses someone offering to buy him a drink![]()
Dunno what he does when diving as he leaves his hearing aids off. I think he lip reads a fair bit which is why he thinks all the fish are telling him they fancy him.![]()
(I can only say this 'cos he's a good friend and knows I love him really ) !

I had a profoundly deaf guy for a DSD, I do have level 1 BSL which helped but the rest was done with lip reading and writing stuff down in the classroom.
The pool was much easier he lip read the skill descriptions and was one of the best DSD students I have had. He was very attentive to the demos and followed the skills perfectly.
Sussex is a bit of a trek for us but if you know of any tips that might aid or anyone slightly closer I would be most appreciative.[/quote]
