Any recommendations for Falmouth/Lizard?

I'm looking to take our club to dive Falmouth/The Lizard next year and will probably be able to get accommodation near Helston. Does anyone have recommendations for a local hard boat that can take 8-10?
TIA

Sumo, yes I recommend Porthkerris, right near Helston. Great Ostrich Burgers at the cafe at Porthkerris!

For Falmouth, by far the best boat IMO is Redeemer, can recommend it personally.

Thanks for the responses - much appreciated. Current plan is for Jun 05 - a long way off I know but always worth booking boats early!

I wouldn't personnally use Porthkerris Divers again. I spent four days diving off their 45' cat early on last year and what a tub it was too!

I would like to think that they have improved it now however at the time it was just an empty shell. Plastic garden benches slid around the inside of the cabin, the kitting up area was devoid of any kind of bench etc and the 'heads' had no door! This didn't bother me however some of the female divers were not too impressed.

As for the skipper, he had no idea as to tide timings etc, which made loading and unloading the boat a joke and told us lies as to why he couldn't visit certain dive sites.

Overall, compared to the boats and skippers I'm normally used to it was a real cowboy outfit!

Angus, if I remember correctly, the Cat you were on is now trailered up near the airfill station.

YOu were diving off that? If it s what I am thinking of, serious need of some TLC!

Thumbs up Bay Marine

I've just joined this forum and i've seen this thread - i fully agree with fletch on the boat charter company Bay Marine. I dived with them earlier this year before they had the diver lift and was made to feel very welcome. There was 12 of us onboard and there was still loads of room to move about and get kitted up.

On my first email enquiry i had a reply back the same day giving me a list of some of the wrecks and reefs i could dive, also a large selection of personally recommended accommodation. As i did not know the area i let them book the accommodation for me and was very satisfied with their choice, it was 5 mins walk from the boat and all the pubs.

i recommend anyone going to cornwall to look these guys up.
