Plymouth Trip

I'm in the umming and aaahing stages of sorting out a trip to Plymouth on a hard boat, prolly for 10 peeps, but maybe more, doing the JEL, Scylla et al.

Am aiming for may-time but I think I may not be lucky. Any recommendations of skippers? I've used Dave Booker with Amoco before and he was brill.

Just sort-of gauging interest? Who would like to go?

I've only posted in here as it's a bit of a recce first before I jump in with both feet.

Mark.

I'll prolly give Dave Booker a ring to see when he's free. I'd like to aim for Mid-May. However, what I might do is see what's free across the year and post a couple of weekends so we can choose.

I was thinking of doing it as a trip for other YD'ers, but it's been hived off in here now Took me 10 minutes to find it. I wasn't looking entirely for charter boats as if I can get Dave Booker I will, I was more trying to gauge interest to see if it's worth me organising it.

(I know my place. Getting me coat....)

Pete Fergus is an excellent skipper. He runs an offshore 105 'Venture' from Plymouth. I think he is full for May, but its worth giving him a bell - 07778 494 274. Alternatively call Roger Webber - 07773 157 981 or www.plymdive.com - who runs Excalibur. The boat is a little tired, but Roger is Ok, and he arranges bookings for a few other boats, so if he can't accommodate you on his boat he'll probably be able to find someone who will. Lastly you can try Deep Blue's Seeker - http://www.deepbluediving.org/ - boat looks OK, but I havent dives off it so can't comment on skipper etc.

Hope that helps

Paul
PS - if no joy I have Venture booked for the 7th and 8th May and can keep you informed if I have any spaces.

I'll second the recommendation for Pete Fergus and the Venture. Good boat and amongst the best customer service I've ever had - Pete really looks after his guests. I managed to book him for a couple of days mid-week last May at fairly short notice. If you can avoid the weekends you'll probably have more luck.

Alright Mark

I have dived of pete Hamely's boat 'Furious' out of plymouth. very nice boat with room for 12 and a lift! Don't have his details but digger does. Might be interested in the trip if I can persuade digger that he wants to go and give me a lift.

Kev

p.s I hear you have some pictures of the rare donkey moth.

Bantam,

A few other HBs http://www.subaqua.co.uk/boat/plymouth.html

I'm sure Doug Parker could fill in any gaps in our knowledge of these boats. It's a long time since i've used Storm or Cee King.
