Billy St Abbs: New Boat Coming Soon

    Hi All,

Billy at St Abbs will be taking possession of a new catamaran boat in the next few weeks. No name for the boat at this time.

Last weekend bookings for old boat will be 8th - 9th Jan 2005.

Two weeks after he will have new boat, wishing Billy all the best with the new charter.

    Regards,

    Thumbs up

I do hope this is a new Cat, and not Alex's old one (he was trying to flog it last time we were up there in Oct)!

Problem with that Cat is a short bow (fore of the wheelhouse) which set her very high in the water - esp with 10 'twinned' divers on the aft deck.

Still haven't dived off a boat in Abbs as good as the one Billy had before the current one he's got (and is no doubt flogging). Now that was a dive boat: there was enough room for twelve fully-twinned divers, a team of Equatorial juggling pygmies and their retinue to perform and a small Woodstock-sized Peace Concert.

Either way, agreed - good luck Billy and we'll see ya soon
All divers are created equal(ised) - it's just that some of us handle the pressure better.

Arriving next week apparently, he was going to get one of the Wavedancer's from Sovereign, but changed his mind when he discovered it was not MCA reg'd and not in such good nick, in not so many words.

Shagged was the description I heard and both boats in need of a major engine rebuild. Apparently fitted with engines from the Glasgow refuse collection department and a tad pricey at £60 and £75k a piece.

    Smile

    Update:

New catemaran is steel hulled to suit rough conditions, fiberglass hasa tough time at St Abbs due to small harbour.

28 feet long and 15 feet beam.
Loads of room, much bigger than Lady Gail.

Billy hopes also to install a divers lift. Wow!

Billy pulling all the stops on this one to give the divers a confortable stable platform to dive from.

In addition new website in development http://www.rockhousediving.com

    Regards,

    Gary.
