Teignmouth Dive centre

Has anyone experience of these people?

http://www.teigndivingcentre.co.uk

A mate has offered me space with these people in April and August. Their rates look very good £25 per day and cheap air fills inc nitrox.

I can see that there is no dive lift, not a big issue, but what are the crew like?

You don’t need to be good at swimming to save lives.

OBVIOUSLY YOUR STUPIDITY IS ONLY MATCHED BY YOUR INCOMPETENCE.

The boat is high sided and the ladder is a bitch. 12? LMAO! 8, maybe 10. But it has a new engine at last and no longer smokes, is fast and the skipper is very very good. Getting your kit on and off is a pain at low tide.

There are some very good wrecks visited from here including the Bretagne (on of Divernet's top dives), Peronne, Lord Stuart, Empress of India etc etc. The website usually lists up and coming dives.

http://www.teigndivingcentre.co.uk/i...co.uk/main.asp

Good news for Techies is that they are running deeper, more techy dives over the winter.

Vis is variable - with strong Easterlies you will be lucky to see much (1 to 3m?) but even then, sometimes you just get lucky... They also run a rib.

Despite my opening comments, I like the place and there is some good diving to be done from there.

I used to dive on the boat when John Ellis had it in Mylor.
First time I saw it down here was after a dive on the Galicia. I surfaced, couldn't see my own boat, but saw Seaquest! Bloody hell.. I thought I'd drifted all the way to the Manacles....
Narcosis on the surface???

Been diving with them for about 3 years whenever we can. Find the new ladder easier than the previous one and yes, low tide loading can be a bitch, but always enjoyed the dives. Crew and staff very helpful and friendly and safe.
