Why not ?

If your boat and a trained skipper had not been in the area, this could have turned into a major cluster F**K.

I was slagged down last year, for offering help and advise to a BSAC CLUB RhIB, I was e:mailed , PM'ed & had about 4 phone calls on the matter.

The sea is not a PLAYGROUND, it can be your friend one minute and really Pi**ed you off the next.

the skipper didn't give his name - we were given the name of the person overall in charge of their diving !!!!!

like we said if your original thread was correct - (sound diving QAB) this converation would not have taken place, just who's causing the confussion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

woops sorry for the sarcasm

Just to clear up the confusion I said could occur with the names;

The boat with the idiots was Plymouth Sound BSAC NOT the boat from Sound Divers.

Come on Andy, you should have known from the description that it was a club boat and not commercial - as should Baymarine. Yet still you both slag Ray off on a public dive forum - not nice, could cost him customers.

Just a thought,.........

ignoring the mistaken identity for a minute.

Is it ok now we know its a club?

After all the current club guideline found here ......
http://www.bsac.org/techserv/diveboat.htm
Would suggest that the dive was undertaken outside the clubs governing body gudelines.

as for common sense..... lets not go there!

Exclamation

We never slagged ray off - we commented on the question plymouth sound diving rib - which we were led to believe by the call to the coastguard was the rib we resuced, 'NOT SOUND DIVING' AS WE BELIEVE IS RAY! we are well aware it was not a commercial rib and if the question was worded correctly in the very beginning none of this would have been written.

like i said at the start, we did not wish to slag off anybody that was operating in a correct manner.

it is not our fault the two names are very similar!!!

if ray has a problem with it he is more than welcome to contact us and we can talk to him direct and let him know exactly what happened without others who weren't there commenting.

Like wise, but going by the first 2 posts on this matter , there is a bit of confusion..... my mistake for misreading ,,,, BUT i never used names or companies to slag down.

Point
1). Many club boats act in a commercial vessel manner, and before anyone preaches to me that they don't and just charge to cover costs........ then BULLSHIT, all club boats make a profit or the boat couldn't run.

2). I agree with skippers post.
3). Highlights what commercial skippers have been saying all along.

perhaps others will reead this thread and hope a lesson sinks in before a death occurs.

how many times must i say i never knew there were 2 very similar sounding names in that area..all i wanted was a bit of knowledge for anybody that had used ray......the way this has turned out i wish i had'nt bothered ..and i thought yorkshire divers was not supposed to be like this......

i apologise for getting the name slightly wrong...but i still say before anybody gets flamed people must make sure they have the correct people.

i now know ray is a very good experienced skipper and we are looking forward to diving on his boat.
