Any info on MV Bounteous Sea

I'm booked on a trip on the above with my LDS at the start of July

Just wondering if anyone who has used this boat has any comments/reviews to offer. What's the accommodation like, and getting into and out of the water? And anything else you can think of.

Just like to have as much info in advance as I can

Yes, thanks - I saw this thread the other day. Just wondering if anyone who has used the boat in the past had anything of interest to report

All I can say is great boat and great skipper.

We were on the Bounteous Sea in 2003, at that time (dont know if anything has changed, dont think it has) there was loads of deck space and it was a great boat to get in and out of the water (and that is coming from a woman!!)

Nice living area and rooms are big enough.

Hope you go and love it like we all did.

Bounteous Sea is skippered by Mervin Pirrie ... experianced scapa and north isles skipper.
The Boat is a cracking fast ex MFV livaboard that was refittited in 2003 ....lovly accomodations and good equipment.
She is a tall climb out of the water but has an excelent ladder.
If i had to pick a fault i would say that for the size of boat she has a proportionly small, and with 12 divers, cramped dive deck.

hope this helps

what hazel says... very comfortable boat, proper bunks with pillows and quilts - no need to take sleeping bags! breakfast is ok, but ronnie on Jean Elaine will probably hold the record for best (providing you're not vegetarian or don't like grease!) breakfasts/brunch's for a while to come!

two showers, very clean, good chillout area...

minor niggles are ladder could do with an extra rung as can be difficult getting leg up when its bouncy, and you need to move your gear to a particular area to get cylinders filled...

we would deffo use again tho!
