Beau Rivage Liveaboard- any reviews?

Unbelievably, a DAY before we are due to leave Blue O Two have bumped us off the Blue Fin and onto the Beau Rivage.

Anyone know what its like?

I'd read plenty of reports that Blue O Two were prone to this sort of thing and I'm very unhappy about it.

Cheers
Paul

Sorry I can't help with the boat but there seems to be a pattern here, someone else recently posted about being bumped from B O T

Cheers Lou

Looks crap in comparison to the Blue Fin doesnt it.

They say that the itinerary and guides and everything else will be the same and have offered us vouchers for £200 off another trip but I have no confidence that this will be the case when we actually get there.

Vouchers are unacceptable. We chose the BF after lots of research and for good reasons. Dive companies shouldnt be allowed to get away with treating their customers like dirt.

Although I agree with you about not wanting to accept vouchers, I wouldn't want to book with them again anyway.

However I thought the boat looked OK, I was booked on a new boat in 2004 we were switched by DivingWorld to a boat which was older and looked crap. We had the best weeks diving I had ever had. OK the group can make a trip as well.

I would certainly push for a cash refund and free nitrox or something. The trouble is these operators can do just about what they like, its all in the small print.

Agree 100% Fiona. I am defo wanting a cash refund. We are getting something we did not pay for. Theres no way I'd have selected the Beau whatever when originally booking the trip.

Theyve cocked up. And should pay a penalty. If I'd messed up and not fulfilled some clause or whatever I'd expect it to cost me something as a penalty.

I suppose the good thing is that we go for whats under the water not above it, and thats always gonna be great (provided we go on the same itinerary as we paid for!!)

Cheers

Why have you been bumped?

have they sold the week to another group who are paying more? or is it there practice of having one "nice" boat and double booking sending one group off to a boat that wouldn't receive your booking in the first place.

This is a new boat and shouldn't have problems.

Time to dive.

They say that there was a group of 26 that were due to sail on Blue Horizon which couldnt sail (no reason given).

So they moved that lot to the Blue Fin and our group (15) to the Beau bollocks.

I know it will still be cool, and that the other boat will be fine, but I just feel cheated.

Apparently the Blue Horizon has not yet finished sea trials.

But they are happy to take peoples money knowing that it wont be ready.

Disgraceful.

I cant find anyone who's been on the Beau Rivage. It probably doesnt exist.

Thumbs up

Credit where it is due - the booking agent (Scubasnacks) have agreed to take the vouchers from Blue O Two, and refund 2 x £200 cash from their own pocket.

Thanks to all there, especially the very helpful and apologetic Anita. Theyve been a pleasure to deal with, unlike Blue O Two.
