Liverpool

Hi Guys,

Am looking to do some diving around the Liverpool/Wirral area soon and was wondering if anyone can suggest sites (Ive found some at Liverpool Bay) and the names of any good skippers (unless there shore dives obviously). Any type of diving is welcome although wrecks appeal more naturally......

cheers
Dave

Red face

I think you will struggle here?

The Mersey is filthier the a teenage mind on cider.

I think either the Albert Dock or Anglesy are your only options, I don't know anyone launching out of liverpool for Liverpool Bay, I think most go from Wales.

Pisses me off

Pisses me off a little..The stick the area gets Same old tired unfunny cheap shots...Crappy Mersy blah blah well ...there is actually some great diving to be had Not in the Mersey obviously its full of trollies etc

Liverpool Bay to be exact...Although as with most places in the UK the viz varies..however there are great wrecks out there City of Brussels ,Dublin ,Leila,Munster ,Linda Blanche, Princess victoria , Chagres Ardlough, Cairnross ..list goes on

Problem with Liverpool Bay is The exposed location wind blows out a fair percentage of Dives and most of the wrecks are around +20nm out
depth 30-45m
there is a book on Liverpool bay shipwrecks not sure of the title/author

Hardboat diving....No local Skippers that I know of ....All diving seems to be on RIBs Private or BSAC Branch 5
Scott Waterman of Endeavour /quest charters sometimes runs out to the area from Port Menai

I have had some brilliant diving out there

There are a couple of hard boats going out of Menai (Scott and Keith) and a couple of hard boats going out of Amlock.

The diving is very tidal but there are some great wrecks out there in the 35-60m range, and the vis can be great at times.
