A boat out of Portland a couple of years ago didn't which is why we had a lovely photo of Mr Oliver trying to get back on board

Ok , Just for you i'll type it out long hand.

Diver 1 ,goes to the boat show with a fist full of money to buy a computer. Instead he came back to Dover with a dive bag costing £ 105 .... He liked all the pockets and the wheels..... This places all his dive kit in one place and a pocket for everything. But it takes 2 people to lift it in the back of his car :opps:

A week or so later, we take him out in the RhIB for a wreck dive he has never done, he turns up at the boat with his gear in a goodie bag and a couple of carrier bags , his excuse was that he couldn't lift his bag into his car own his own...... anyway , dive completed and he knew that we chip in together when the boat i refueled which is normally £ 10 - 12 , but he wanted to do this wreck and we said it would be slightly more due to the cost of petrol,,,, he created merry hell in the garage as we all chipped in £ 15.50 to round off the number by a few pence.

Then, we said did you want to come out and 35mts wreck and the viz is good ,,,, he answered NO,, ....... we find out later that he went to Vobster with another mate of his , in his own car , stayed at a Travel Inn, lost his reel and DSMB plus a mask.......... only did 2 dives under 20 minutes ,,, and reckoned he had a great time and was worth every penny........ Oh , and took 3 unpaid days off work , as his leave has all benn spent .......

Yep, I'll pay an extra FIVER for a crewman , any day .

You don’t need to be good at swimming to save lives.

OBVIOUSLY YOUR STUPIDITY IS ONLY MATCHED BY YOUR INCOMPETENCE.

Yesterday we had a broken tail lift and today we had 2 helicoptered off following rapid ascent. Without a crew member, it would have been a VERY difficult weekend. It was hard work with 2 of us.

The girls are fine, one was bent, the other wasn't (?) but had a headache so went in the pot too. Both were back on the boat today and helped me make the teas.

We had a glowing report from the chamber and the coast guard

I must say the whole process was very smooth, if a little fraught, The diving doc was superb, the chopper guys were very skilled and lovely and the "patients" were honest and brave. It was very scary for them.

Big thumbs up to our Skipper Pete who was an absolute STAR

If you EVER have a rapid ascent, PLEASE tell the crew ASAP, The whole system worked like a dream.

Another reason to book good boats with good crew - at times like this, penny-pinching makes no sense and can end up costing you...

Well done Scimitar Diving
