And would you trust them to get it right, even if the treatment is going without a hitch? I wouldn't, they can't even cook a sausage properly. Same goes for any of the dive centres, NDC has a pot, Dorothea had one years ago, I imagine other places do too. No disrespect to the people working there but I don't want a dive centre worker treating me in a pot. I'd rather take my chances with a couple of hours on O2 and get somewhere decent.

It's a very good point about treating complications. Don't know what Hull is like but the facility at Murrayfield is also a training centre for trauma medics. The care there is first class.

Personally, when in the UK, I'd rather take my chances on a cas-evac to a professional chamber in a hospital , with full technical and medical backup. There's a lot to be said for years of specialist training and experience and millions? of pounds worth of state of the art equipment!

Do I recall that there was once an incident at an inland dive site several years ago where a suspected case of DCI was potted in the pot on-site, however the non-medical staff on-site got the diagnosis wrong? They couldn't depressurise the pot due to various complications (Mediastinal emphysema? Pneumothorax??) and the poor diver was stuck in the pot for significant time?

Or is my memory failing due to serious nitrogen abuse?

one thing i will say tank girl is that the chamber in hull is top notch (as ive found out on 3 occasions )and its within a bupa hospital so they have got any specialists on hand they need or can get them very quickly if there is any complications ?even dureing compression procedures a doctor can be placed within the medilock system and brought in as can any other number of people ?
