| Well Sam (The wife = clownfish) had her thyroid removed completely due to cancer some years ago and since then she has mixed and matched different doses of T3 and T4 and continued to dive with no ill effects. Her surgeon was a diver and said she was ok to dive 4 weeks after the operation!. The biggest problem for her was she did used to get tired quite easily and this did make it quite hard work to dive but she has been seeing a very good Endochrinologist over the last year and with a bit of experimenting with some different drugs she is almost back to 100%. Send her a PM if you want any more details or advice on a good specialist. It took us a few years of hammering away at the GP and other specialists as her blood results kept coming back within an expected range yet she still was not right. Her new endocrinologist treats the symptoms and does not just rely on blood tests. Daz

| I suffer(ed) from anemia a while back, to correct it I used to take a liquid Iron mix (Fersamal) as I couldnt get on with the pills. Tastes bloody awful, especially as it gets near the end of the bottle, but it did the trick. Hope you get it sorted. Matt |
