Nigel, in short, no I'm not. I was asking for advice about increased chances of DCI, not being a big wuss about the pain I reckon I can get my gloves on, getting them off will be the fun part

That's a relief. I went diving 5 weeks after a heart attack. The biggest layoffs are caused by plaster casts. I haven't figured a way round them yet (XXL drysuit?) but I don't race bikes anymore so I guess it won't be a problem again.

There are endless caveats about diving after this or that minor injury and if you listen to them all you will be frightened to get in the bath for the rest of your life.
