Probably correct, it could also have been withdrawn as it would excerbate any bleeding injury?? Truthfully I don't really know.
However, O2 treats the root cause, ie the N2. So why treat a secondary effect when we can treat the cause. Moreover, O2 assists with a whole host of diving injuries and is not contraindicated in cases of internal bleeding, ie. we don't have to be so precise about diagnosis before applying an effective 1st aid treatment.
My original post was trying to explain why we used to use asprin, and I'm fairly sure I had that bit right.
