Unhappy Twisted/sprained Ankle

Yesterday I cleverly (or not!) managed to trip over my 7 year old son while coming downstairs resulting in a verypainful knock/twist to the right side of my right ankle (lateral malleus or something like that). Today, GP said possible fracture , but X-ray revealed nothing .

Question: How long should i stay off diving after I can walk without limping? [Ankle currently supported by tubigrip bandage (3 layers).]

Red face My Sympathies!

I did the same in March except I fell off the kerb (not your son!) I was out for nearly 3 months. It's still a bit stiff sometimes, but at least I can dive now. The worst part is getting back in the RIB - tip: lead with the good leg! Get physio as soon as you can. I left it a bit too long and scar tissue had started to form. Good Luck and get well soon!

Take it very easy when using the ankle again after injury you could set yourself back along way. Get a good physio and follow their advice.

the ankle takes alot of abuse while you dive cos of the extra loading of moving your fins through the water. So go easy when getting back in the water.

best of luck with it.
