and before any of you buggers comes up with it, the 'cardiac event' had bugger all to do with getting the bill for my new torch.

docs are calling it a cardiac event becaue they cannot yet determine if it was severe angina or a mild 'attack'. all they know until tests come back at 6 am is that 4 ecgs over 2 hours showed a constantly changing picture, which is apparantly 'not ideal'.

I'll post a full report of the event itself tomorrow, or whenever i get out of here

night all, thanks for kind thoughts

Thumbs up

For fuck's sake mate - just seen this, and you appeared in fine fettle when spoke on Skype yesterday evening!

Seriously, you talking to us and keeping us up to date (whilst nice of you) is NOT important or a priority right now: you getting better, on the mend and sorted (with or without diving again) is important.

We'll still be here when you're fit enough to give us an update or chew the fat, so don't rush, just get well.

David, JAG/Xmatelot - does anyone know which quack's/saw-bones'-shop/charnel-house he's in? He might not want flowers from a team of hairy-arsed YD divers, but I'm betting a card and few well-chosen and nuturingly abusive toys/cards/notes/TX's might be right up his street.

I'm hoping that if Garf's been able to post here under his own steam, lucidly, tonight (via what ever method - PDA, 3G Moby, WiFi hotspot etc.), then he's not at 'death's door' I'm taking that as a good sign.

Get well soon mate and hope you're back amongst the throng soonest! Kinda puts your reverse-squeeze lay-off into the shade eh??

Either way - get better and join us soon!! You know you're welcome

Bren.

i'm fine, just been woken up for more blood tests and feel like a blopdy pin cushion, but i'm good.

thanks for all kind thoughts. get results of everything later, so will know more then.

and bren - yes mate i enjoyed our chat then 20 mins later went down like a sack of shit. wierd eh. 10 mins after that in ambulance, and in redhill 15 mins later. I'd just squeezed a fresh lime into an ice cold bottle of corona too. arse

Please do not send anything, iam fine. I am surrounded by people far more unwell than I. At worst this was bad angina or a minor glitch, not the kind of whopping stoppage the likes of nigelh have endured. I'll be out soon enough and find the fuss a tad embarrassing

I had my chat with bren, then called Jag to catch up with him. I then went to get myself and the lady wife an ice cold beer. Before I got there ideveloped a rash on my back that was beyond itchy and into painful. This rash came and went in 5 mins , so mrs garf told me to stop being an old woman and bring me her beer ( what’s wrong withat picture, by the way).

Then I started to get short of breath. I found it harder and harder to get an oxygen, and a weight was developing on my chest. I told her to get off and get her own beer

Well , anyway, any man in his 30's that says they don't get scared when their chest starts hurting and they can't breath is a braver man than I. The missus got onto nhs direct. 2 mins into that phone call they called an ambulance. Meanwhile I was getting dizzy and weak, probably from lack of air. I thought firing up a nitrox cylinder of 75% while waiting for ambulance, but now did not have strength to get up, or spare breath to explain what I wanted to charlotte.

Anyway, into the ambulance, and they were as professional as one could hope. Pumped me full of drugs and O2, and whisked off to redhill. I improved steadily for 2-3 hours and had more blood, heart and other tests than you shake a cannila at. Chest x-ray relieved the boredom when the woman waiting behind me in the queue finally snapped and went completely tonto.

Anyway, I feel ok this morning, though a\little weak, and await the results of all the tests, although the fact I am in the 'short stay observation ward' is a TAD disconcerting I expe t to get out of here later today or tomorrow, by which time no doubt my beer will be thoroughly luke warm

How's that for a trip report

Sh*t, quite scary. Just take things easy and get well soon.

I don't know, some people will do anything to get out of a YD Drinkie.
