Would it be an idea to reorder the list then Mark. People tend not to read all the way through.

I don't think it should be reordered. This is a standard neuro exam that is pretty similar throughout the world. Tests 2-6 and part of 7 test the cranial nerves and the rest test parts of the brain and spinal cord. It's just that it's easier to see if something is wrong with the orientation and balance ones too. It's a really really good idea to practice on each other often, as you'll remember how to do it and, more importantly, what normal is like - this means that you'll have a better chance of detecting some kind of abnormality. This is why med students practice on each other all the time (although that's suggesting that med students are normal...).

Good idea, I just used the standard format but I don't see any reason why you can't change it.

Luke, as our resident neurologist, is there any reason why it should be in any particular order?

You have to be careful though, one mans 5 min neuro exam is another mans 5 min open invitation to touch you up and give it "Oh, but I'm doing the neuro exam, honest!"

I cannot seem to be able to copy and paste the 5 min exam onto a Word document in order that I can print it out to laminate. I dont want to click print as I will get all the postings to this thread.

Notepad is your friend.

Copy and paste into Notepad (under accessories) and then into Word.

Depending upon your printer ...

Highlight just the text you want then go to "File", then "Print", there should be an option in the "Pange Range" section that says "Selection", click this aand then print. This will just print the highlighted text only.
