Unhappy Desperate Dan in Desperate Need

Advice desperately needed...

Off to Marsa Alam on Thursday, yesterday and today been dead tired and runny nose, now nose has dried up but swollen glands on neck...

Oh damn damn damn...

Any ideas... have two dives planned on Friday....

Do you ever wish you had just gone to church and prayed, perhaps then god would have liked you... lol

I'll swap a box of Lemsip Max Strength for your tickets!

I started to get nasty feeling symptoms a couple of days before my Tenerife trip. My answer was to take the flu powders for the two days before I went and it sorted it out a treat, no symptoms at all for the duration of the trip (apart from my normal sneezing fits!)
Might be worth a try for a couple of days whilst getting ready and travelling.

Lots of rest, good fresh fruit and veg and plenty of water. Lay of the booze.

Check your insurance cover to see if illness is covered for cancellation

Hope it clears up and you have a great time.

Chris

Vits

One of those 1000mg soluble vitC+zinc tablets before going to bed, loads of sleep & one in the morning. Not great for your kidneys long term but works for me for a few days when I feel something coming on. Placebo according to my chemisty mates though

Funniest cure I saw was on a liveaboard in Scotland, no mentholly stuff around so 2 x Fisherman' Friends in a head steamy thing instead, powerful stuff, no missed dives!

Could try one of those new nasal spray things as well, pretty expensive (£10) but I heard they work.

Good luck with the holiday. Go anyway, even if you're a bit poorly at the start you should be ok to dive by the middle.

Caroline.

Thumbs up

You could try Echinacea.

A few months ago, in an article about dive holidays and health in one of the dive mags recommended taking it for the week before and throughout your dive holiday. Dosage was about 1000mg per day if memory servers.

I've used it when getting a cold and think it helps, although that could be a placebo effect .
