<font color='#A8A8A8'>This may seem like a bit of a stupid question, but as I can't seem to get an answer from a doctor I'd ask you lot.
Some time ago myself and a friend went paint balling only for him to recieve a nasty shot to his face mask. Although at first this seemed to do not damage he later found that he had a blind spot.
As it turns out that due to the concussion effect of the impact it detatched certain sections of his retina leaving him with this bloody annoying blind spot.
When asked what effect diving may have upon this blind spot, the doctors said they did not know.
Has anyone ever heard of this sort of thing, or is the fact that the eye is not subject to compression going to come into play.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Steve

Thats a difficult one seems like a question to ask a Diving Doc or eye specialist to me?

I once dived with a friend who after the dive and removing his mask as he looked like Christopher Lee in Dracula, blood shot eyes horrendous,it put the wind up me. &nbsp; The cause was that he had made a rapid head first descent to the bottom and had been that intent on getting down he had forgotten to equalise the pressure in his mask. Fortunately it looked a lot worse than it was and cleared up within a couple of days.

Yeah, seen pictures of a nasty case of mask squeeze, just like Dracula but no harm done.

Re detached retinas think your buddy needs a diving medics input, see link Medical Referees

Can also try e-mailing Dr Ernest Campbell in the meantime scubadoc@scuba-doc.com
