My pal is epileptic though hasn't fitted for 7 years.  He holds a licence to drive so will he be able to take up diving?

Hi Andy
Acording to the PADI list of contra indications it is a no no but if he gets cleard by a Doc then there is no problen. At least not oin Spain.. don`t know about the Uk.

Hmmm... not sure if it's altogether a great idea IMO, diving does cause brain lesions and I can't see that's going to be conducive to his continuing improved health.
On a personal but extremely relevant note, my epileptic older brother had been free of fitting for many years however he died one night due to it's reoccurence (this happened almost 15 years ago)
