| I certainly wouldn't chance going deep. After all, i do only have the one pair of eyes! Oh. . . but my lovely new dry suit. . . only 8 more weeks to go. . . |

| The reason for the advice as I understand it is that the corneal flap that they cut will not fully heal for three months......loss of a mask/failure to equalise etc could tear the corneal flap and lead to irrepairable damage. It's all to do with the pressure on the eyeball and the length of time any incision to the cornea takes to repair. HTH |

| If it was me in this situation I wouldn't risk it just for the sake of a few weeks. It may seem a long time to have to wait but better to get in safely than to get in too quickly and jeopardise the success of the op or worse do some (permanent) damage. If you damage your eyes now how will you get to enjoy the drysuit in the long term? Simon |

| Do you really need to ask this question? Wait the 12 weeks. :-) r

| I was told 4 weeks then I could do shallow diving but 12 weeks for deep (30m). But I would check with your surgeon again or follow the original advice of 12 weeks. I waited 12 weeks. |

| My better half had it done & she had 3 months out of the water. It ain't worth the risk IMHO.

| Looks like i'm staying dry for a bit longer! |

| I know how you feel. I have to wait to see P.W. for a bubble study since PFO closure. I have been dry since the 19th Nov and am itching to go. Hell all my mates went to Wastwater today, and I'm sat at home bouncing off the walls. The only reason I like Xmas is I get some time off to go diving (bah-humbug) but no diving this year Like the others have said is your eye sight worth the risk, I think not! Try not to get too frustrated, 2 months will go in a flash. Ali
