| any physio's/yoga/stretching experts? Just to clarify, I have been to my physio and gotten their advice and treatment with several follow-up sessions but so far it has not been effectively. In fact my physio has admited herself that it is a very tricky muscle to treat and she wasnt sure what could be done and gave me some stretches she thinks will benefit. I think the muscle group is called the "Sartorius" which runs roughly diagonally across the quadriceps to the gluteus maximus. on my leg this muscle is shortened causing complications and excessive strain on that muscle group when I have my feet in the standard toes point straight position. this makes any activity that requires my feet in a straight position more challenging eg. cycling, rowing etc. The physio did a funny strap thing and stretched it out and measured my angle that my legs naturally revert to and how far I could stretch it out in a certain direction. I have a significant loss around 10-15 degrees rotational flexibility thingy. she classed this as close to severe impairment. if hanging from a bar (body weight supported by arms), my feet naturally camber signifcantly outwards due to the constriction of the sartorius mucsle. now i have been doing all the stretches etc for over a year now and have had limited improvement. and my rowing performance is suffering from it. anyone have an experience dealing with it and can recommned stretches and info? I can pass it on to my physio for consideration and see what else we can try. I cant really describe the stretches I was prescribed as its quite akward, have got the illustrations given to me which I can try and scan if required. thanks in advance. |

| lol, i didnt consider that. I would have thought its always a good thing to explore new options and I know her quite well. I havent consider changing physios, it never occurred to me, strangely. I go to a sporting centre where they have several different physios working there. I would assume they discuss unique cases amongtst each other so not much point changing there. its also probably worse if I said I want to switch to another one without a more umm gentler?nicer? way of putting my reasons. plus i also bump into her on a regular basis since I also train at that centre regularly. or look for a new one somewhere else. hmmmm lol feels like I would be "cheating" on her lmao ![]() |
