| Maggie Clamp in Nottingham is (I seem to remember) £70 for the first one, and £50 for subsequent ones as long as your dive school has an ongoing relationship with her. If not - she charges £90 Good luck with the DM training |

| I'm thinking of doing my DM after my rescue this year........ Are there any other costs besides the HSE Medical and the annual PADI subscription? Also what perks does you LDS/club give you for DM'ing? (sorry for hijacking your thread B - I've been giving this some thought myself !!!!

There is cost involved, the DM internship costs money, how much is very much from club to club differnt. When you get the price, be sure you check if the crew pack is included.. it costs more than £90 if not. Then there is the HSE but that is expected, and the padi membership fee.. otherwise... it is just dive dive dive.. (and that is just a sheer godly added bonus if you ask me - lol) I have been offered work after the DM training and will most likely continue right into assistant instructor.... the club will train me to EFR instructor for free as a little perk too which I suppose is good for them as it is good for me.. All in all, really really excited, got all my crew pack etc..and it is amazing, I am so happy to be taking this step towards becoming a professional and can not wait for my first discover scuba .... Ask away, I am happy to send you emails of how I find it, that way you can see if it is for you... B x

| Main additional cost would be the professional insurance - I think DAN were about the cheapest at £120 (I think it was) Depends on the LDS, if you work for them full time, you may get a discount on kit. Basically, they offer you the chance to dive for free and get some experience ready for the IDC (should you wish to go down this route) |
