Unhappy Ear today - gone tomorrow!

Is it just me or is water stuck in your ears for days later normal?

It seems to only be my left ear but after diving usualy upto a week later theres still the feeling that Ive got some water still stuck in there. This effects my hearing in that ear.

Does anyone else get this or should I get my ears checked?

Nooo, this is very not normal!!

I have narrow ear canals (so narrow that I have to buy childrens sized ear plugs) and get trapped water on occasions. 1: Rinse with fresh water, your bottle of drinking water will do. 2: try to encourage the water out with a tissue but NEVER shove anything in your ear. 3: Drying aids like Swim-Ear are helpful but over use will cause more trouble that it helps!

I've just recovered from an infection that kept re-occuring for 6 months.

It's realy strange, as Ive said it only happens to my left ear and lasts for about a week. I went to the docs the first time for a check and he said evrything was ok - well after the nurse made a great mistake by telling me that my ear drum had a hole in it (stupid women), doctor then checked and said it was fine and that I'd just got some fluid in there. He recommended some tablets like flue remedies but it's happening all the time now after each dive.

I get it. It's usually the sign that I'm waxing up again.
Fill it up with dewaxer from the chemist for a couple of nights then flush it out with a 'monkey hot' shower and it goes away for six months.

Yeh I'll try that Nigel - I'll try anything as it's quite anoying at times when you can't hear what someone is saying to you. Then again maybe that could be a good thing ;-)
