I used to have serious problems equalising on every dive and on most dives I would have blood in my mask by the time I surfaced.
I eventually found out that I had an intolerance to wheat (bear with me), and one of the effects of this was to block my sinuses. When I was coming back up, my simuses flushed out into my mask due to the release in pressure (a bit disgusting really).
I found that I didn't have to totally give up wheat, but just take less of it, and now I can drop into 40m like a stone with no equalisation problems. Actually, this has gone slightly off topic...sorry!

Wink

i have a weak blood vessel in my nose, it used to bleed at will when i was younger, i had it cauterised when i was 15, helped a lot but it still bleeds now and again, blood pressure is normal etc.

i have had it bleed underwater and due to the loss of colour at depth it took me a while to understand what was happening a mask full of blood is a mask full of intensely green snot at 10m plus
dont worry about it anymore, at least i know that if my blood pressure goes up the old snot box will be there to give me some warning signs by blowing the weak blood vessel first

Smile Yep I am regular as well.........

Regularly get a small bleed and it can happen irrespective of the dive profile etc .....possibly down to surface blood vessels in the nose bursting with pressure.Caused me a bit of worry at first but it happens to a lot of people

It seemed to get less frequent with slower decents and more equalizing but now appears random ........? Minor bleed only mind with a full monty it would be a bit uncomfortable to say the least
