| Diving after transplant Ive already posed the question on DN... If there are any diving docs here, can you please tell me which drugs are acceptable to dive on after a kidney transplant? BP, createnin and tach levels are all nice and low. Consultant has given the OK. Also, as you know, if you do anything strenuous, such as a bit of travelling etc before going to have your BP monitored, is this taken into account as it would be raised? All info appreciated. Thanks |

| DDRC in plymouth, but I would get a medical referee( proper diving doctor) to check you out first and give you the OK rather than a consultant who doesn't know about the effects of drugs etc at depth.

| Have we discussed some of this sometime before MissShark? Anyway, this is really on for the Kidney specialists to speak with the Diving Docs. Side effects for the rejection drugs, plus is there still 'plumbing'? Got to stay clear of infections. Best of luck, Adrian

| Thanks guys, and we may have done Adrian. It was my Dad who had the transplant and all the 'loose ends' have been .... put somewhere!! He will go to the dive doc at the London Chamber like he did pre the kidney failure and we saw the naughty Mr Eden.... I was just doing a general look about to see the do's and don't etc. Thanks again. |
