| Weird feeelings!! Just come back from 2 days of diving to depths of 26m max and still feel like I am on the rib, my head feels like still have the undulations created by the waves while stationary in the boat. Is this normal? Also during a dive to 23m I felt a bit dizzy and came up with a sore head which lasted 24hrs. I did not make a quick ascent and always made sure I did 3 mins at 5m safety stop. Any ideas folks? |

| Ralph, The bobbing about feeling is quite normal, I get it all the time - it can be quite disconcerting at first but it will go away in a short period of time. Just image your brain trying to interprate the movement to keep your balance ok, when you stop moving to the boats rythmn the brian takes a while to reboot! I had it for 2 days once, didn't make me Ill just felt a bit weird As for the headache - need someone more quailified to answer that one I'm afraid. Cheers

I never suffered from being on a boat but the last few years I seem to suffer more and more, now I take pills before I even get on a rib. David

Make the call :- HOW TO CONTACT A HYPERBARIC CHAMBER They don't mind getting a call which is not DCS, they ARE qualified, and you WILL put your mind at ease. MAKE THE CALL Take care, Paul |

| Another vote for "make the call" - I did once and the "diving doc" soon had me straight. Possibly an ear problem if still feeling dizzy?

| I agree with the last couple of posts... why wonder for the sake of a phone call.. that is what the doctors are there for and they are so helpful if you phone with any questions... B x

| ava mars The disiness is usually called boat rock as your body adjusted to the boat and sea it then had to revert back again. Also some people even very fit people get headaches due to low sugar content when diving and to remedy this some just have a mars bar or similar prior to a dive.Im not a doc and your symptoms could be something completely different. I know someone whos a triathlete and started diving and got a headache everytime below 18 metres tried everything doctors, hospital, specialists too. Couldn't find anything wrong then called shop before a dive one day we got a couple of mars bars he had one (though he doesnt usually eat chocy due to his diet) had a brill dive no headache. so now hes a predive mars addict. just something to maybe try and think about. good luck. |

I got a headache after diving once real bad but iwas deliberately trying not to breathe too much cos i wanted longer on a dive which i now realise is not the best idea. And the spinney thing may be reverse block were you properly spinning out like you do when you are really really drunk? Last edited by Naomi S : 27-06-08 at 08:45 PM. |
