I think it depends who does it. There are no hard and fast rules and it's down to individual consultants. Dr Wilmshurst is usually 6 weeks, Dr Turner is usually 12 weeks (pending OK repeat echo obviously).

(I'm looking at 12 weeks/3 months too!)

Another one! Best of luck to you too Mary. I have to say though as a new diver all these ops for PFO's are a little worrying

It works

I'm just packing my gear for the return flight. I've done three days diving and everything felt OK.

Even though Dr Wilmshurst gave me tha all clear I feel better for testing it myself. I didn't have the tiredness that I would have had previously post dive so I'm sure i'm no longer blowing bubbles.

We should form are own PFO club as we seem to have quite a few members on YD.

Good Luck Mary and I've my fingers crossed for you Simon.

Ali I've sent you a PM.

Simon

Time to dive.

I wonder whether or not I'll get this too, previously I've always been very tired post dive to the extent that on liveaboards I do nothing but sleep, dive and eat.

Smile Excellent News - PFO closure

Good one Simon !!

having just come back from having an Amplatzer inserted this week at Liverpool Hospital, it was great news to see that yours is sorted and after just 6 WEEKS ! Really glad for you.

Hope mine is as quick ! I have a liveaboard in Cocos Isl, Costa Rica mid september, (so 3 months away) so I have all fingers and toes crossed. Otherwise, it will be a very expensive boat trip...hope not. There's a real chance I might make it in time, (under Dr Wilmshurst).
