Diving Insurance for Amplatzer Club

Does anyone know of an Insurance company that WILL fully insure for diving overseas for people with a fully sealed PFO ?

I don't have the all clear yet but I'm just planning ahead for a Costa Rica trip.

Regards, Andrea

I have Divemaster and they specifically accepted my UK Sports Diver Medical as an OK even with heart attacks and (minor) heart surgury on my record.

As a result I bought their general travel policy as most travel insurance firms only want somebody who can tick all their low-risk boxes.

They are probably worth a phone call.

Thanks for that..
I have sent Divemaster an email asking about it, I have used them in the past and thought they were good too.

Yep Divemaster, I'm insured through them, although not for diving until I get the all clear from PW in writing.
They understand the PFO issue and don't have a problem with it where as other companies have said we will cover you but nothing to do with your heart!
I did think about DAN. But that just covers you whilst diving.

They do lots of research and aren't in it for the money. They pay out, nuff said.

Time to dive.

Divemaster covered me when i thought my PFO was closed, then they paid out when i got bent and couldn't go on my booked red sea holiday so they did exactly what they said on the tin, and covered me with a valid medical, and i would unreservedly recommend them for cover.

However one slight note of caution - they have since said they would never cover me again - even though i in all genuineness thought my PFO were closed and had a valid medical saying so, though they did pay out on my cancellation claim. I haven't yet tried to fight this but i am a little annoyed about it...
