| Scuba Diving Injury Question? I went scuba diving about a year ago (first time). My breathing aperatus was delivering pretty high pressure I thought. I am now having pain in my right lung (6 months now). Nothing really serious, but it is there. No coughing, I am fatigued a lot more lately. I have had ringing in the ear (tinnitus) which started after my diving, comes and goes. I have been to the doctors, and of course they don't find anything. If this lung pain is something associated with my scuba diving, will it go away with time, or could I have damaged my lung or will it progress into something serious. I have felt like crap since my diving, and really feel like it is related, but there is nothing serious enough for my doctor to give it much concern. Any idea what could be going on? Thanks Last edited by GLOC : 15-07-07 at 08:24 AM. |

| Diving Medical? I would suggest speaking to a doctor who specialises in diving medicine, as they will tend to know more of the affects of diving on your body than your GP would. And if you are getting 'aching lungs', then I would suggest you do it soon, and ask them for a 'lung function test' with exercise. I had an aching lung once on an ascent because I was recovering from a chest infection, even though it was very mild, it wasn't pleasant. Good Luck! Lou

| I'm no Doctor but i doubt it is anything serious as Stesh says if it was a serious Diving related injury it would have got you by now. If it was a Diving related pressure/DCI injury it would have got you a lot sooner than now, about 364 days and 23 hours and 59 Mins ago if it was a serious pressure related injury and not much later if it was a DCI. Still if you are concerned as other have said speak to a Diving Doc or give the London Chamber a call on their advice line it is free and they are very helpful Workings Hours: 020 7806 4000 (ext 4445) How to make contact, Contact London Recompression & Hyperbaric facilities - The London Diving Chamber Last edited by Daz217 : 14-07-07 at 01:08 AM. |

| Based on what you have said it doesn't sound even vaguely dive related but for your peace of mind you may want to go and see a specialist doctor. Here is a list of HSE approved ones so just pick the nearest to where you live or work: http://www.hse.gov.uk/diving/medical/amed1.htm It sounds like you have only done the one dive...? So this would have been some sort of "Try Dive' from a dive centre...? These are usually done on air and are usually limited to 7m in depth. It is very difficult to hurt yourself within these parameters. The ear thing *may* be some sort of ear infection which *may* have come from the water but again it is unlikely unless you dived somewhere really dodgy like the Amazon... Where was it BTW? |

| As you have link to an online Pharmacy, and appear to be worried about past possible causes of your health now, you may be suffering from Hypochondria.

| Hmmm I too found the link strange as the poster is too new to have a signature so must have included it deliberately. I'm just wondering whether this is just a more refined/subtle form of spam, however I'm not going to click the link to find out more. |
