I watched the PFO closure op the other week on youtube and the surgeon that was explaining what was going on was talking about this and also burning the PFO shut with Lazer treatment.

Now that's scary.

doesn't mention the name of the device though...
Was chatting to Dr Turner a few weeks ago and we were chatting about some of the newer devices and he did mention one that was more bioabsorbable, but still has a nitinol skeleton, wonder if this was the one he was talking about...

When I was getting ready to go in for mine to be closed I was offered a choice of two by Dr Turner, the Amplatzer or the Gore Helex (LINK), I looked at both before deciding but went for the Amplatzer as it had a shorter healing time and I had read more about the device being fitted.

I must admit this device on the original post sounds good though with only a 30 day heal time.

Still about 5 weeks until I find out whether I'm still open or closed.
