Another vote here for olive oil. I ended up with both ears clogged after a weeks diving. Went to the doc's expecting him to say i had an infection but it turned out to be impacted wax, a few days of the olive oil treatment and i was right as rain. A BIG tip for you though, keep a tissue handy as sometimes the ear gets slimy and the wax will loosen and come out as a blob, not pretty!

No I know that horrible feeling too well...thats what put me in the damn pot and stopped me from diving for a month...all because I was dizzy, sick and couldnt stand on my own two feet when the diving doc assessed me...so into the pot for a nice 7 hour stint! Oh well at least I did the right thing on the safe side of things..

UPDATE on ear: still deaf...got olive oil in though so lets hope it does its magic otherwise we're going to the doc on next week...starting to get a bit of an outer ear infection I think but they clear themselves up...not worth a trip to the doc just yet..

Aimz xx

cheers guys

We should save them all up, photograph them, post them on here then after 12 months, we could have a "YD Biggest Ear Bogey Competition", with booby prizes for stickiest ear bogey, blackest ear bogey and ear bogey that looks most like The Dud.

We just have to appoint a panel of judges. Volunteers?

I'm thinking Blonde Mafia.

Another vote for the slightly warm olive oil, but definately not for sticking a cotton bud in and wriggling it around.

But it does feel sooooooo goood

I'm thinking Blonde Mafia.
Er, I think I can safely answer on behalf of my fellow BMs, thanks but no thanks

I use Otex every night. Its not really as good as the stuff my grandad used to use (100% Hydrogen Peroxide), but it sort of works fairly well.

I also use cotton buds to dry my ears after diving, but i dont ram them deep.
