Why do you think that? I thought there was some research into this a few years ago. Or can you back your opinion?

Quite agreee with you. I am sure a personal trainer would have the knowledge to be able to help. Seems to me that thats what the Jonny was trying to do - help.

Exactly. You should know better.

The makers of a Grape Juice commission a study that shows ingesting grape juice improves the health of an unknown group of American citizens. Shock horror! Adding fruit to your diet can be good for you....

as your probably aware. in this day and age most studies are sponsored by a major company. You either choose to believe something or you dont. Maybe you wouldnt still be on medication if you gave it a try, maybe you still would.

But it seems to me that your willing to trash any idea that you do not believe in. in my industry alot of research has been done on alternative remedies for human ailments, some are rubbish sum are actually quite good. Just dont be ignorant

This is just sloppy thinking. I have a problem so all I need to do is (choose which one you like..)

eat bran

eat linseed

take vitamin E

take vitamin C

eat an apple a day

etc...

Instant cure, instant gratification. How about some education and knowledge about human physiology. We have evolved as omnivores eating varied and seasonal game and produce and getting lots of exercise. Eat a varied diet, in moderation and get as much exercise as you can. Stop looking for props or magic bullets.

So what exactly are your qualifications in this industry

do you have a degree related to this

are you a qualified personal trainer

are you a qualified nutritionalist

I would hazard a guess and say you dont hold all the above qualifications.

Nore have you dedicated the last 8 years of your life researching and learning about the human body.

Maybe if u come book a consultation with me you might learn something

I'm not trashing the idea of eating fruit. In juice form of whatever. I think it's an excellent idea and I do it all the time. It just bugs me that people pick on one thing. What's it going to be this week?

If you pick up on all the food fads that have come and gone over the last few decades who probably end up with a nice varied diet which is where you should have been in the first place.

Perhaps my problem is that I actually try NOT to be ignorant.

my opinon is that "diets" are not that healthy. MY clients follow a loose set of nutritional guidelines which happen to be very flexible. Now i too am sceptical about alot of these fads too.

But In this particular instance. its been proven both on paper, and in my opinion in the real world with my clients and my colleages clients.

I just find it quite rude for you to discredit my information so readily, i was only here to help and to input my opinion. i think i will probably refrain from doing so if i just get the replyss exactly you should know better, or just a load of snake oil.

I have my own personal trainer, thanks. Who does not advocate grape juice for high blood pressure. He advocates sensible eating and gives me lots of water during the workout and (usually) a banana afterwards to get the blood sugar back up quickly.

I would normally continue this discussion but I have a meeting at 07:00 in the morning and I'm going diving after that. I'm in the middle of making a packed lunch for my buddies which consists of sandwiches (made of wholemeal bread I baked myself) spread with butter. Fillings include Egg mayonaise (with a little anchovy and bacon), cheese and aubergine pickle, bovril and something else I haven't decided on yet. I have apples, bananas and grapes plus orange juice. The thermos will have Tanzanian coffee (freshly ground, no sugar) plus a couple of chocky bars as a sweetener. Wanna come?

No protein after you session to put your body into a positive nitrogen balance thus repairing the damaged muscle tissues which have broken down?

why dont u try red grape juice. u might be suprised and depending on your dosage of blood pressure medication, you might be suprised.

enjoy your days diving tomorrow

I quote "If you want to add protein to your breakfast, the first food you are likely to think of is eggs. This simple food is an ideal source of protein, containing all essential amino acids. Eggs are also a source of B-complex vitamins, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, selenium, and zinc."

I like grape juice but usually eat whole red grapes and drink red wine.

I appreciate you are trying to be constructive and I can assure you I am not trying to be destructive.

I am totally convinced that many people would benefit from drinking grape juice. It's a tasty and easy way to eat fruit. The staple US sandwich of Welch's Grape Jelly and peanut butter is a culinary masterpiece.

Thanks for the good wishes.
